What makes CMDA different?

At CMDA we pride in being the family-friendly neighborhood dance studio. We have a NO Stress policy. Our goal here is for our dancers and their families to be comfortable in choosing dance and the first way in implementing that goal is to have stress free zone. We also focus in on placing dancers based on talent and experience versus age. We want our students to be able to grow their skills to the level they want to achieve!

How early can my child begin dancing?

Our classes begin at age 2! We highly recommend our combination classes that focus on multiple genres of styles of dance rather than just one.  This way your child is exposed to different movements and also different kinds of music.

Where is CMDA located?

CMDA is located in the heart of Merriman Valley, across from the biking paths of the Metroparks at 1720 Merriman Rd. Suite A, Akron OH, 44313. You can't miss the purple lights.

The parking lot in the front is small, but there is parking around the back of the building and in the retail strip right next door as well! You can enter through the front door, or the side door!

When can I register my child for class?

Today is the Day! We accept registrations for new dancers at anytime throughout the year.

Does my dancer have to be in the recital?

Yes, all dancers that are registered in weekly classes are required to perform in at least 1 dance in recital. Every class has their own choreographed dance to perform. Team will perform a multitude of dances and those in private lessons may also have the opportunity to perform. If for whatever reason life gets in the way, you must notify the front desk.

 

Are there other performances throughout the year?

We are this year, looking into a Winter Showcase, details will be out soon. Team members will be able to perform at a multitude of locations (TBD) throughout the year as well as perform and compete at local competitions.
 

Does my child have to wear anything specific to class?

Are the costumes modest?

Yes! CMDA will not sell any clothing or costumes that will ever ‘solicit’ our dancers. Clothing will always be age appropriate for every level of dance.
